I Stand All Amazed

One of my favorite hymns in existence.

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,
Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.
I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,
That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me
Enough to die for me!

I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,
That he should extend his great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?
No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,

Becoming Slightly Better

I am human,
Nothing can change that.

I make mistakes.
I make big ones.
I can change.

And every time I do,
I feel closer to you.

Why do I fall further
Than I need to?
Why does my heart
Need to be broken in two?

I don't need to know.
But my heart, I feel-
Is buried in snow.
A voice comes "Kneel."

Flung

A prayer in the treetops,
Flung at the force of human heart:
Please pull out the stops
Behind what you think is my part.

A father looks down from above
Knowing that you hurt inside
His heart bursting with love
A voice: "Know I am by your side"

A simple peace envelops you
As you sit in the trees,
Seconds ago, unsure what to do,
But now you know he sees.
